BSNL launches 3 tablets, lowest model priced at Rs 3,250


New Delhi: State-owned telecom services provider BSNL has launched three tablets making a quiet entry into the increasingly competitive market for the hand-held computers.
Recently, Datawind, promoted by a Canadian India, had made a Much-publicised entry into the market in a tie-up with the government to provide cheap networking devices ”Aakash”, priced at Rs 2,250 for students.

Rs 120 crore to Naxal-hit states for building 400 police stations

Centre will be releasing the first instalment of Rs 120 crore for construction of 400 fortified police stations, mostly in Naxal-hit areas of these States.

As part of a decision of the Cabinet Committee on Security, the Home Ministry has identified 83 worst Naxal-hit districts to construct or strengthen 400 fortified police stations at a cost of Rs 2 crore each.
The Ministry has released Rs 120 crore — Rs 30 lakh each — as first supplementary grant for incurring expenditure on these police

Lucky escape for 400 hotel guests

Around 400 guests had a providential escape after a major fire broke out in Hotel Sitara at L.B. Nagar Ring Road on Sunday night. At least ten persons are suspected to have sustained minor injuries.

29 kidnapped Chinese workers released in Sudan

Beijing: Nearly two weeks after they were abducted in Sudan, 29 Chinese workers were on Tuesday released by by the local rebels and flown to Kenya.
